Are you Good to Go?

Another set of corps members are passing out today, Thursday 2^nd July 2015. I can imagine what the feeling is like for them. For those of them that will read this post, I ask: “Are you good to go?” I my blog mother happens to be one of them. I am so happy for all of you as you pass out from this phase of life.

I can relate with this passing out set well because, as a corps member myself, I was amongst those who went to the orientation camp in Nsit Atai, Akwa Ibom state to welcome this 2014/15 Batch B set to the Land of uncommon transformation, as is the slogan of the state. When I passed out, I handed over whatever powers and responsibilities I had at the time as a corps member to this set: Head of Corps member (or Head Corper as it is popularly called) – Itu LGA Council, President – Guidance & Counselling Community Development Service (CDS) group, Public Relations Officer (PRO) – National Association of Catholic Corps Members (NACC), and a Hustler. With these being mentioned, you can tell me how uneventful my service was. I still look back at those days with rickety feelings. I will hint you why.

Apart from the fact that I was involved with nearly everything that makes a Corps Member a true and active one and barely had time for even myself, I also let me heart open of one true Love. I have stylishly blogged about it in the past severally. Anyway shaa… towards the end of my service year, things fell apart and I did not celebrate my passing out like I wished. I was too busy for myself being everywhere else and doing every other thing like it was my father’s business, and gave title time for the one person that had become my sole business – that was my crime. But I still smile at those days, and consider it an experience, one of those types that don’t just come like that.

To those passing out today, I really wish you well. The challenges that lay ahead are enormous than the ones you have surmounted. This is a period to put in more meaningful efforts to whatever plans you have. Try not to ever stay idle, the moment you find yourself idle, know that the devil is trying to set you up. It is time to make use of your knowledge and energy positively. No one says it will be that easy, but things can only get better as the days go by. My Secondary school’s motto says “Work and Pray”, and that is what I advise you to keep doing and I am sure Oluwa (God) will bless your hustle.
