The holiday has come to an end, normal
life resumes. I am not sure how I feel now cause I enjoyed the break while it
lasted… don’t know about you. I need to check my calendar to find out when the
next holiday comes up… Yaaayyy! There is still a 1 day holiday this week, I am
so excited. October 1st is around the corner – Nigeria will be plus
1. I think I(we) might need to appeal to the conscience of our president to
make the holiday a two days event ooo; October 1st is on Thursday
and we can’t be going for break on Thursday to resume on Friday; what kind of
holiday is that naa?
When you start getting all excited about
holiday’s, you need to check yourself (just as I am checking myself now), check
the kind of work you do, check your daily routine (that “normal life” of yours)
and find out what is really wrong; obviously, you might just need a change.
What needs to be changed is based on what you discover when you are done checking
yourself.
It is Monday today and I wonder how many
of you are excited about the prospect of going back to work. For those still
in school…“lectures and assignments again!”,
what’s the feeling like? I once saw this post that says “If Monday doesn’t
motivate you, you may have to start considering changing your profession or job”.
I agree with this advice and I seriously think you need to give it a thought
too if you have plans to live long. The moment you get yourself into the wrong
job or profession, you will discover that you feel stressed easily and have
this feel of emptiness cause what you are doing does not align with your
natural pattern. Don’t joke with yourself. Take these things seriously and you
will be better for it.
A typical Nigerian will say; “na so e easy to get job? Abeg make I manage
this one weh I get any how jaree…” I totally agree o, E no easy to find job for Naija, but I must add that the greater problem
is not in managing that job you got by chance, even though it is not your kind
of job. The problem is resigning to fate that since this is what you got, you
can’t get another – the type that really suites you. I encourage you this day
as I encourage myself too: you can still dream big and achieve it, you can use
your present job to set yourself up for that which fits you better. Work
towards it and you will be amazed to discover that dreams come true.
Have a great week guys.
Cheers!
PS.: I am yet to share the outcome of the movie
ticket give away won by Tomi Molola; be sure to see it in my next post, and the reason I said my spirit brought Molola back.
Monday oh yes. I hope you are already dressed for work?
