Thank God it’s Friday!

Hello friends, like play like play (or in Pidgin English; like play play – what’s the difference seef?) lol, Friday is here again. What can I say if not: Thank God it’s Friday! By the sound of that word which has become very popular on Fridays especially in its acronym; TGIF on social media, for some reason you will feel the excitement loaded in it.

It is the last working day of the week for most people (not for the likes of Chicobee and Pammie - kpele!), which heralds the Rest days; Saturday and Sunday (for those that rest naa). Or to put it the other way round, it is the beginning of the weekend, and for many, weekend is that magical period when every other thing great just has to happen. For some, it is rest all the way, while many seize the opportunity to visit friends and do some catching up on gist, gossips and trends that they are ignorant about. Clubbing cannot come at a better period than Friday evening to Saturday – and you shake off all the stress in dancing, drinking and all those things they do in clubs.

We all know that most celebrations like owambe, weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, get-together etc. are often planned for weekends and Fridays seem to be the day that climaxes the whole preparation.  

There are a whole lot of reasons we get excited about Fridays and I am doing this post to find out from you your own reason you TGIF.

Friday at work for most of those who work in a cooperate environments is a dress down day, where workers are allowed to wear a casual-cooperate appearance. The African feel is most times introduced to it as workers are allowed to flex their African fabrics, brocade and co. They feel freer and more comfortable in what they wear and they look more beautiful and unique compared to the complete (or near complete) cooperate dressing style… I love this about Friday’s and most especially the fact that it heralds weekends – Laundry/Rest/Church days for me.
