I Miss You

Hello friends, see eehn, I am nearly forgetting that I promised to blog more often. I don’t know what is wrong with me seef.  I have allowed myself to be so distracted by the other things I do. Anyways, all hope is not lost, I am on a quest… doing all I can to live my life and still create ample time for that which I love doing, and that’s being here with you. I am here again and I must say I have missed you as always.

I miss you… The last time someone (she) told me those words, chills went through my spine. I had always wanted to create an impression, but didn’t realise I had already succeeded in doing so already. Distance separated us and it made me feel bad, like I had wasted my time all along, until I heard those words; "I miss you", in one of those phone conversations.
How deserving can you be of those words? Whenever a person pronounces them to you, in one way or the other, you must have done something to deserve it and the person is trying to pass across a message to you. Distance plays a lot of role in those words, and it works alongside with the mind. It is the state of the mind (for some, state of the Heart) that finally propels those words to come out… I am sure you know these feelings.
Over time, your relationship with a person determines what those words truly mean when it is being said. I miss my parents when ever they travel, especially for a long time. I miss my classmates during holiday period. I changed school, and I miss my formal schoolmates. My friend moved to a new apartment in another part of town, I miss him/her so. My very good colleague got a new job; I am missing him/her already. I saw my girlfriend last, last week, I miss her so much. My wife was sent for a course in another state, or outside the country for two weeks, I miss her dearly… My dad is late; I miss him every day.
There are various examples I can give for those times we miss someone. Expressing to them how you feel can vary. Some people will prefer to hit the nail on the head and just say I miss you. What if you say;
I can’t wait to see you again, or
I have been thinking of you, or
I wish you are here right now, or
You are always on my mind, or
I miss you so much it hurts, or
I need you now…
How you express this feeling is important… knowing the right word to use, so as not to over exaggerate what you actually mean at that point is key. You may use some words for a person related to you by blood that might not be appropriate for your lover and vice versa, you know...
I would like you to share with me other ways you would prefer to pass on this message to that person you really miss (possibly stating the form of relationship between you two), if given the chance.
I can’t wait to read your comments.
Cheers!

  1. I think saying "I miss you" encompasses everything you want to say to the person. It says I am thinking of you, it saays I can't wait to see you, etc. And it sounds less "mushy" than I miss your voice and the rest of it.

  3. I try to avoid the regular common words as I feel they no longer hold deep meanings even 'I'm sorry'. If I miss you I'll simply express desire of wanting to see you again. Needing to catch up not just those exact "I miss you," "I love you" etc

  6. I am so unromantic. Anytime I use those key words....., eehn that means heaven must fall.I am more of action than words .I believe those words have been thoroughly abused.

    1. Reminding us that action speaks louder... But personally, I believe that being romantic is more action than words, so I wonder how unromantic you can be, if you are more action than words. lol...
