2016 is Very Pregnant

By virtue of what it is, this is my last post for 2015. My heart is filed with so much gratitude that I don’t even know how to really express it. I started 2015 not sure of what I was doing blogging, but as the days went by I found reasons to blog. A great part of the reasons I kept blogging was/is God’s grace. The other significant part is you my blog friends and fans; readers and commentators alike. And so I say: for being part of my 2015 and making it worthwhile for me, I am most grateful. May the good Lord continue to bless you.

My Christmas - Picture Story

I spent my 2015 Christmas with my family. Loads of exciting memories… I will let the pictures do the talking… Tell me how you spent your Christmas; I’ll like to know who had a better Christmas than mine.

Cheers!

Word Game and Christmas

It’s just few days to Christmas, hope you are counting down? I am and I can’t seem to wait anymore. If I had the powers, I would just declare today Christmas and 25th too… lol. “I dey smell Christmas too much.”
This brings me to the game:

Yet Another Award

“We wish you a merry Christmas” Lol… in the spirit of the season.
2. Ever been in love?
Yes ooo… and I can say Love is a beautiful thing.
3. Who was the last person you texted?
Seriously, I can’t remember sending a text in a week or two. Don’t know who I sent text to last.
4. Do you have any phobias?
I am yet to discover any real phobia o… guess height; but it has to be a pretty high.

My Phone Crashed

Hello friends... I am not particularly in a good mood. My phone crashed just yesterday without proper notice. I think it was overcomed by virus that probably have been in the phone for God knows how long... You know, my phone can be connected to the internet for Africa 24/7. I have tried nearly all I can to see if I can retrieve anything from the phone, to no avail even at the moment. I will keep trying shaa...

A Christmas Carol

Wow… my blog mother just reminded me that today makes it exactly 12 days to Christmas as she share that popular hymn we all love: Twelve Days of Christmas. I am supper excited because I am just coming to terms with the fact that Christmas is already around the corner and more especially because no sooner than you know it, Santa Claus will be in town, so you better watch out. (*SmileS*)

The Experience - The Area Boys

A week today, I was planning on how to attend what is arguably the largest gathering of people on a spot for a Christian musical concert on earth tagged “The eXperience”. At the inception of this blog last year, I remember how eager I was to tell the story from the same event, as I was part of it for the first time last year. I am sure I didn’t capture the story well, but I told the story anyway [Here] & [Here].

Turn! Turn! Turn!

There are times you are just in the mood. It could be a happy mood, a sad mood or even a moody mood (Lols… whatever that means) and you begin to wonder if you are okay at all because in our eyes, everyone is in the normal mood. This got me thinking and I asked myself if there is anything as “normal mood”.

What If I Stop Blogging?

Hello friends, how has it been? It seems as though no one missed me. Heheheee… I wasn’t expecting to be missed shaa and this attitude helps me curb some unnecessary expectations; that is one of the lessons I have learnt in life. Anyways, I missed everyone seriously, especially you. *SmileS*

As the Spirit Leads

HI everyone, how are you doing?

This isn’t Ugo, I’ve kidnapped him and tied him somewhere and y’all have to pay ten million pounds as ransom. Anyway, I’m joking about the kidnap thing (before I get arrested for raising a false alarm) but I’m serious about not being Ugo.
My name is Adaeze and I’m taking over this blog for a few hours. When Ugo asked me to write a post for today, he didn’t give me any specifications or restrictions.

“Write as the spirit leads” he said.

My Sexual Needs; My Girlfriend Up To It?

This might just be my shortest post so far, so I will cut the preamble and proceed. It's Monday, no time, everything is sharp sharp today including this post... So I had one short conversation with this lady I meet recently. I didn't need to share it but I am doing so already.
She asked me: “What of your girlfriend?”

Account Frozen

One the 28th of October, I did a post asking you, or should I say appealing to yo do your BVN like I had it all figured out [Read it Here] …So I was kinda stranded the other day and had to use the ATM on an account I run withvari l of our new generation banks, and my transaction was declined. I thought it was a joke, and then I tried to use the banks USSD code to recharge my mobile line. I got a message that my request will be processed, but I never received value, neither was I debited for the transaction I initiated. I decided that it was a network issue from the bank.

See Me Back in Lagos Traffic

At the earlier stage of this blog, I used to lament a lot about Lagos traffic. I did most of my blogging then on Lagos traffic, usually in a BRT bus and sometimes in danfo. That period was not beans easy o, I dreaded morning and evening just because of traffic. If only I could just say some incantations and disappear to appear at work in the morning and vice versa ine evening, I would think to myself… na wa ooo. Thene I had this employment (a Federal Government Graduate Internship Scheme initiative) at Lekki, a work that brought a lot out of me, including so much inspiration that has kept me in blogsvile till this day.

I wrote JAMB up to 4 Times

Previously, I did a post on 5 things I am grateful for, in a gratitude challenge I was nominated. I took up the challenge but didn’t complete it as was instructed. I was expected to contact the 5 people I nominated to inform them, but I failed to do so. Up till now, I am not sure they have all seen the nomination and those that have seen it, I am not sure they have responded to it yet. The rule says they should acknowledge the nomination within 72 hours. That should have elapsed by now. Well…?

Gratitude for 5 and more...

I was nominated by my blog boo that’s got a boo, Chincobee for a challenge – Gratitude Challenge. It’s quite a rare challenge and I totally buy into its concept – getting people to appreciate even more, the power of being grateful and showing it. So without wasting so much time, I will just do what I am asked to do for the challenge: state 5 things I am grateful to God for here and more in my heart...lol
In Gratitude I lift up my hands, voice and heart to the Lord

Deserved: I Blow her Trumpet...

Hello friends, how has it been? Did any of you notice that I am beginning to struggle to keep up the pace here? It has not been easy… the truth is my father never said it was going to be easy. He told me to be diligent, resilient and always put God first and I will be amazed at what happens at the end of the day. I miss that man.

N5,000 for Unemployed Youths Monthly; I Don't Get it

I heard there was a mild drama at the national assembly recently when a senator from the opposition party moved a motion that the presidency should as a matter of urgency fulfill the promise his party made during the election campaigns which brought him into the seat of power, that they will pay N5,000 monthly to unemployed Nigerian youths; a motion quickly countered by the senators of the ruling party who are the majority in the house. Reading the story of how it all went down in the house got me thinking and worried. I wondered if the senator who raised the motion did so with genuine interest for the unemployed Nigerian youths, or was it just one of their politicking strategy to put some pressure on the ruling party, the kind of pressure that will win the heart of the majority of the general populace, since they are the one mostly affected by the unemployment menace in the country.

Let's Chitchat

I almost did not realise that October has ended. Maybe it is because as much as I enjoy Christmas and the month of December; I don’t want it to come just yet. Or I was really having fun in October, especially on the last days with BMF’s anniversary and so on. That reminds me, my blogversary is in about a months’ time, I just realised now – please remind me again before the month runs out, else I may forget.

Sisterhood of World Bloggers

“Being a blogger has somewhat drawn me to people-a few of which I've seen- and some of which I have not and hope to see soon. So, being picked for the Sisterhood of the world bloggers award is a special feeling even though I feel that it should be 'siblings of the world bloggers' as there are lots of male bloggers who I consider 'brothers'.

We Are Just Friends

We were best of friends or so I thought until I got a job, then she started to complain; “you hardly call, every time all you do is chat, chat and chat… Facebook messenger, Watsapp and BBM”…and I am like “mmmm?”  That was when it dawn on me that something was either up or wrong.

What You Do With Your Worries

Show me a man who has a completely smooth ride through life and you will only have succeeded in taking me to the land of wonders. Life is filled with ups and downs. We are always advised to have high expectations in life, but prepare for the worst. This reveals how uncertain life can get – no one knows what will really happen the next minute. We just have to live on till we live no more (at least, here on earth), and so our cares and worries are at their heights.

We Are Good To Go...

Not too long ago, I wore the green kaki of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of Nigeria for one last time. I was also a batch C corps member. Today, thousands of Nigerian youth around the country will be wearing their own kaki for the last time. There is excitement all around from them, friend and family alike. Many cannot believe they have made it thus far in life. Some were not given any chance, but today they seem to have surprised even themselves. For some, it is a relief of some sought from the stress of service year and a release into the world for good. Which ever is the case, we are good to go... *SmileS*.

My Prize - Special Delivery

Heeeaaay friends, who missed me? I know you did. Uuuuuh… Thanks for missing me, even those of you that missed me small too. These past days have been hectic. At a point, I thought I would run out of my mind, cause I was missing what I love doing most – blogging, you guessed right. Lol. I tried to blog, but the more I tried, the more the things that consumed my time increased. Na work oooo… sometimes I wish there is nothing like work; we just have everything we need at our disposal when we need them. Grrrrrh… lol. I can just be a lazy somborri at times.
I will go straight to the point on this post. I have always known that I am a winner, even before I was born. Lately, it came to bare again on blogsville (what most of you prefer to call blogosphere – anyone will do jooor). Yaaay! I won a Brooch or Bracelet (I am not sure which yet) on Bolatito’s blog… now I know you are wondering what Ugo Egwumba wants to do with either of the prize, whichever he gets. If you like, be wondering; that’s your business o…lol.

The Land is GREEN

If you don’t know, the land is green and greener shall it become… Amen.
Happy birthday Nigeria ...but you are getting too old o…lol.  Friends, I love my country, I no go lie, is just that sometimes Naija can vex someborri shaa. But this day, I chose to look away from all the challenges and wahala in Nigeria and look on to God who holds the future of our country and give him the glory for the assurance of taking our country to where it is meant to be and I know deep in my heart that the journey has fully become and Nigeria will rise again… sure, the process has begun.

Monday Again? Ooo No!

The holiday has come to an end, normal life resumes. I am not sure how I feel now cause I enjoyed the break while it lasted… don’t know about you. I need to check my calendar to find out when the next holiday comes up… Yaaayyy! There is still a 1 day holiday this week, I am so excited. October 1st is around the corner – Nigeria will be plus 1. I think I(we) might need to appeal to the conscience of our president to make the holiday a two days event ooo; October 1st is on Thursday and we can’t be going for break on Thursday to resume on Friday; what kind of holiday is that naa?

Thursday, 24 September 2015

And the Winner is...

Hey guy, my teeth now aches. These people want to finish me with meat o, I had to run away, shea they said he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day. The tussle with those meats is one that deserves a re-match. Yes noooow! So tomorrow I continue, after all, it is holiday.
Before I forget, Happy Eid-el Kabir to you all especially my Muslim friends here; if you don’t keep my meat eehn, we will quarrel o (BMF take note)…lol.

Salah Around the Corner + My Give Away: Your Movie Ticket

It’s mid-week already and I am dancing because I can’t wait for the holidays. I have taken time to search out all the contacts of my Muslim friends, because I need to visit them this holiday; after all, what are friends for? At least lemme wish them a happy Salah and see what comes out of it.
Some of my Muslim friends have been beefing me. They say when it is Christmas, they don’t get to see (eat) my chicken and now Salah is at the corner, I am disturbing them for ram or cow meat, as the case may be. I just want to use this medium to ask for their pardon… eeem, you know chicken is small compared to the size of ram or cow, so by the time we say jack, the chicken is finished (I can even finish a single chicken if I am in the mood) but the ram can’t just finish like that naa… You know naa… So no stories ooo!

Cinema Ticket for One

Happy Sunday friends… How has it been, I mean your weekend? Mine has not really been my usual weekend – the rest-rest minded weekend. I managed to do my laundry on Saturday, went to the airport to pick up my dearest who came back to town after a while away. I ended up spending the night in a home away from home – my brother’s place… Lol. I know you have started thinking many things again. Are you not on your own?

Handbills Sharing Nuisance

Friends, how has it been? The weekend is here again, I hope you spent your week meaningfully. I don’t understand why I did this post, but I did it anyways. Just today, as nearly every other day I step out on the streets of Lagos, I find one person or more somewhat compelling me to collect a piece of printed paper. These handbills contain all sorts of information especially adverts from religious bodies, health groups, stores, so called jobs employers etc.

They Barred Her from Calling.

Yaay! Hello friends… How has your week been? Mine has been good so far and I am convinced that by the end of the week, I will be smiling even more over a week well spent. That should be your story too.
Alright… Did any of you have issue with your mobile network provider within the past two weeks?

Let’s Talk Tennis: 2015 US Opens

If there is a game I love so much and I wish I played as a kid, it is tennis… guess by now I would be fulfilling my wish of being a tennis player, slugging it out on the court with the likes of Roger Federer and Andy Murray. I actually dreamt once that I met up with him (Federer, I mean) after a  game he played in the US Opens, I can’t remember when or how I got there, and I had a selfie with him…lol. I only discovered latter that it was one of those my symptoms of malaria I used to have.

Japan's Flood got me Thinking

When we hear of disasters happening especially natural disasters, it is easy for us to think of the end of time. Only today, I saw a news on a flood disaster somewhere in eastern Japan. I watched the video on CNN’s site and the whole scene struck me, so much so that I began to wonder if such happens in our country (God forbid!), what will happen… what will be our reaction – not just as individuals, but as a people? What will be the response of our government?

Be Thankful

Happy Sunday friends… To the Christians, hope you all went to church. To everyone, hope you are enjoying your day. I am enjoying mine and I am thankful to God for that.  Going through my favourite blogs in the past week, I have come to appreciate, even more, the importance of being thankful to God always. We all go through all sorts of things every day and no matter how big or small, how merry or gory, and we are still here… We need to be thankful and so, full-of-thanks to God.

The New Fidelity

Guys, the next time you want to do a transaction in fidelity bank, don't be surprised if you see something different, from their colour, brand logo and service experience. Fidelity has rebranded.
When a company chooses to rebrand, it obviously ready for a change - a positive change. In case you don’t know, the spot light on rebranding is currently on the Fidelity Bank Plc brand, with a premium to “Keep their words” as has been a driving force in their quest for sustained excellence and improved service delivery to their customers as far as the banking industry in Nigeria is concerned.

For a while now we have known this financial institution with the colour green and logo bellow, but now there is something new.
The Old Fidelity Logo
The New Fidelity
The bank has seen the need to step up their game in every financial service they render just for the sake of their customers satisfaction …and so, as a customer, I expect an exceptional service experience both through direct contact with the bank or through the banks e-channels; ATM, Internet banking, Mobile banking etc. I also expect a great customer service experience in and out the banking hall and especially on every social media platform that is invoke.
The confidence lies not just in the fact that the bank says; We are Fidelity – we keep our word, and that their vision is to be No. 1 in every market they serve and in ever service they offer, but more in the growth which has been observed in the bank since it’s inception and in the quality of her management over time and staff.

With this new identity comes a whole lot of new expectations and I am sure you will deliver… you will keep your words.
Congratulations to the management and staff of Fidelity Bank Plc.
Fidelity; my Bank.
Cheers.

A Panic too Soon

On my way to work yesterday, I had this experience that reminded me that no one is really safe as long as that person really exist. I was going to be a minute or so late to work if the keke I entered had not left the bustop on time. As if the keke man knew I was going late, he drove as though he wanted me to meetup on time. I couldn’t complain o; I guess the keke man was doing me a favour. And so, with the speed and all the potholes everywhere, it was a very bumpy ride, one that had me hit my head on the frame of the keke severally, still I couldn’t complain – the keke man was doing me a favour.

August Ends

How time flies… It was just like yesterday, I mean the 1st of August and today, it’s already 31st of August. Sometimes I wonder where the time is flying to seef, but each time I wonder, I am reminded of the fact that time and time waits for nobody. There is every need for us to use our time wisely like it is money – do you remember that song; Time na money ooo… Who sang it seeef?

Friday, 28 August 2015

Thank God it’s Friday!

Hello friends, like play like play (or in Pidgin English; like play play – what’s the difference seef?) lol, Friday is here again. What can I say if not: Thank God it’s Friday! By the sound of that word which has become very popular on Fridays especially in its acronym; TGIF on social media, for some reason you will feel the excitement loaded in it.

I Miss You

Hello friends, see eehn, I am nearly forgetting that I promised to blog more often. I don’t know what is wrong with me seef.  I have allowed myself to be so distracted by the other things I do. Anyways, all hope is not lost, I am on a quest… doing all I can to live my life and still create ample time for that which I love doing, and that’s being here with you. I am here again and I must say I have missed you as always.

How Nice can you be?

Can I classify myself as a nice guy? Yesterday at work a senior college dropped her key and I was close by, so I bent down and picked it for her and she sounded impressed (like it was a big deal) and called me a gentle man. Later in the day, another college sought for a person to do her a favour (don’t ask me what the favour is), and I was quickly recommended by the earlier lady and of course, with the reason that I am nice and wouldn’t decline doing the favour. I did not disappoint her either. This was just yesterday. There are numerous examples in the past of me being nice to people (male and female alike) without even me giving my action a second thought. But now I have come to realise that I should give it a second thought.

Where is My Own Birthday Cake?

It’s about 10:30pm here in Lagos and I am just booting my Lapi for the 1st time today. My day was hectic, just like it was for the greater part of the week, I can only say thank God for weekends. As I usually do, I go through my favourite blogs from notifications I receive for the day and I get excited tonight; Bolatito Fashina Apatira, popularly know as BMF is a year older today...

Lesson from last Week

Yaaay! I am back. It’s good to be back, even though I didn’t go anywhere. My days all through last week were very hectic. I got so busy with work and at work that I barely had any time for myself. My blog suffered too. As much as I wanted to blog, I couldn’t find the time to. It was frustrating seeing notifications from my favourite blogs and not being able to go through them as timely as I used to. I checked my last post, seeing your comments and not being able to respond to them on the spot did not go well with me. But I thank God we are in a new week. I need to face the days ahead squarely, take each moment as they arise and always come out feeling great at the end – it’s a choice I (you) have to make and follow up.

It will be a Good Day

I woke up this morning telling myself that it’s going to be a good day and a great week. That is my declaration and I believe it, it was also a prayer point for me yesterday in church (*SmileS*) and this morning too. There is a saying that “whatever you believe, you become”… the meaning of this can be well stretched, as you could relate it to any aspect of life, but what is most imminent at this point is now and today. What is your believe for today, yes now, at this moment as you read this? As for me, it will be a good day.

The VBA Nomination

This period, the versatile blogger award nomination has been going on. Interestingly, my blog mother nominated me first and then Gloria Okaimam and maybe another person somewhere that I am not aware of. Really, for me it’s not about the nomination I got from these persons, but by the glee in the chain of nominations. Where it started from, I have no clue and where and when it will end, I cannot guess either… but it makes you feel good that someone out there is noticing you in what you do on blogsville. I am very sure some bloggers here got as many as 10 or even more nominations from various bloggers, some got only one, in any case, it’s good to have been mentioned for doing something right here.

Man Proposes...

Hello friends, what’s guan in your hood? I have missed you guys. I planned to spend my weekend here but at times, when man proposes God disposes… and that has been the story for me this weekend; I have spent a greater part of my weekend in the hospital instead of with you like I planned.

Versatile Blogger

While I was trying to plan my day on Saturday, I got a notification from my blogmother’s blog; a new post titled Versatile blogger Award. She has been nominated for the Versatile blogger award by Tessa. I read through and saw my name somewhere down the post. In turn, she compulsorily nominated me (her blog son), Adanne (her own blog mother – at least, one of them) and others.

My Favourite Social Media Acronyms... lol!

Yay, whatever that means…lol. I have come to discover that every social media has its own short-codes – abbreviations and acronyms (or is it shorthand?) that are commonly used. In blogsville, I always see “Yay” and I till now, I have not really understood it. It reminds me of a neighbour I used to have, who whenever he returns from work and goes into his house, give him 5 minutes or so and the next thing you will hear is his voice screaming “yaaaaaaay!” Till this day, I still don’t gerrit... Chincobee, please help me out ooo, mbok.

Party Rice on my Mind

I love holidays… who doesn’t? But unlike other holidays were I wake up late, and spend it lazing around, I woke up early today and got busy. My house is in a mess. I have been cleaning it up for some days now in my mind…lol. Today’s holiday is an opportunity for me to actualize it. I won’t mind if you come around to lend me a helping hand.

When will you Marry?

“When will you marry? This year, Next year…” This is a game I once played as a kid. Did you play it too while skipping rope with friends? As you skip the rope, the 12 months of the year will be mentioned and the month you miss the skip, becomes the month you will marry according to the game. You will be surprised at how well I can skip – I played this game a lot as a kid and I remember how I would intentionally allow myself to be caught on my favourite month (February). Somehow, then I always wished I get married on my birth month.

She was my Beloved

People of God, how are you all today? In the spirit of the weekend and a blessed Sunday, I bring you greetings… May the peace of the Lord which is beyond all understanding continue to abide with you now and forever and ever… **and the people said Amen!** I just hope I have not missed my calling. Anyway, that’s gist for another day.

She took my Hands

On this faithful day, I was on my way back from work. The road was tight with the usual after the rain Lagos holdup. It rained cats and dogs for the greater part of the day. Now the rain has stop and people are trying to find their way home. I was a few minutes away from my bustop and the keke I entered got stuck in the holdup like permanently. I got tired of sitting inside keke and so I decided to trek the rest of the distance.

Julborn

I don’t think Julborn is an English word, but who cares? I am only interested in the concept behind it which you can guess until I reveal it to you. You need not worry, cause this post is meant to do just that – reveal my concept on Julborn. I will keep it short.

Are you Good to Go?

Another set of corps members are passing out today, Thursday 2nd July 2015. I can imagine what the feeling is like for them. For those of them that will read this post, I ask: “Are you good to go?” I my blog mother happens to be one of them. I am so happy for all of you as you pass out from this phase of life.

Mid Year Review

Good gracious, it is a new month already, the month of July and amazingly the beginning of the second half of the year. I am supper excited. Did I really make it this far? I did… and you did too. It could have only been grace that has brought us thus far, and grace will definitely see us through.

Thankful for June

The month is finally coming to an end and verily verily I say unto you, this will be my last post in the month of June. The month has been great for me here; despite my tight schedule, I still manage to put up posts the same number as I have done for the past three months now, and I got your support all the way from your visits, reads and comments (*amazing*).

He will Hurt you: Surely!

The hardest part of this post is giving it a title. At a point, I felt I should post it without a title, but I just had to settle for this one. "He will hurt you, surely". What am I talking about? Discover for yourself. But I think I should have used: "Your Partner will hurt you: Surely"...anyway, that's by the way.

So its Father’s Day Today?

So today is father’s day? I could hardly tell, even though I went to church and at the end of Mass the priest wished all fathers a Happy Father’s day. It was not until I got home and saw the notification from my Blog-Grandma’s blog (ErnieshaTibs): “Happy Father’s Day to My Husband”, that it dawned on me. That post is so touching; a post inspired by true love for her man. I felt like crying at the end...lol. (Make I hear).

My Meal Timetable

Came back from work not too long ago and I am tired and famished, I can eat a house now. Life these days have not been any easier, not because of anything in particular but feeding… that’s why I hate bachelor life. I didn’t even know when I got to this point – being a bachelor.

When do I Draw the Line?

I have asked myself this question severally; when do I draw the line? Events in life especially with the people in our lives and those that just exist around us, often puts us in that situation where we have to answer this question. Sometimes, we unconsciously answer it. Life is such that we keep drawing lines or letting things be. I thought I should share my thoughts with you on this topic.

I Have Seen your Blog

Lately, I have felt so lazy blogging. I have been more contented reading post on other blogs and I am not regretting it one bit. There are very passionate bloggers and I admire their style, courage and consistency. In fact, lemme mention some of them here in no order of preference. I love all of you.

What Becomes of Jobs for Graduate?

Jobs in Nigeria could be as scarce as fuel has been (or even more) these past few days. Many of our youth upon graduation, still spend so many years in search of a job. The governments over the years and through various past administrations have promised to provide jobs for the people and it’s been story upon story all the way. The rate of joblessness in the land is evident in the level of crime and restiveness being experienced on a day-to-day basis; when one stays jobless for a long time, he could easily be swayed into crime and other societal ills (abi? An idle mind is the devils workshop).

Expectations on Us

I was just outside my house doing my laundry, like I do every Saturday morning and I noticed some children (about 6 of them – the oldest should be 7yrs or so) gathered near the gutter very close to my house. As I was about to take my glance off them, then did I realize that one of them, two actually, were inside the gutter. This caught my attention and I left what I was doing to pay more attention to what was actually going on there.

My Mother

I dedicate my post on this day to my dearest mother, Mrs. Cecilia Egwumba, as she celebrates her birthday to day. She is priceless to me and the best woman I know and have ever known in my few (or many) years in this world. So I remember this poem by Ann Taylor which we sang (just the verse: who sat and watched...) a lot in primary school, and I am bringing it up here, just for my mother.

Its a Baby Boy!

Few hours ago, I was greeted with the news that one of my favourite colleague, Madam Beatrice just put to bed. I remember how big her stomach was and how we laughed about its bigness. It was really big o, you need to see it and we always asked her how many babies were inside.

Rest is Important

Image result for restThere is a Nigerian adage that says “body no be fire wood”. Most of the time, this becomes true when one is stressed-up both physically and mentally, and the need for rest cannot be overemphasized. We all have schedules for our various day-to-day activities; work or play. Some people work so much so that they can hardly spare a minute for rest. Do you find time to rest at all?

My Blog Mother

Like every child, I do not know how she conceived and brought me into this world. All I know is that she is my mother… She looks out for me and inspires me. Don’t think too far, I am talking about my Blog Mother. Now I know you are wondering: "who could he be refereeing to?"

Needing Inspiration to get on with it?

It is 1:58AM in the morning, or is it night? Whichever, I know you know the time I am refereeing to. I am awake sitting on my bed with my Lapi on my lap. MS word app is open and I am just staring at it, with my mind prowling, in search of something I am not particularly sure about. I have longed to write on stuffs happening around me presently, but I can’t seem to focus. Why can’t I focus? I guess I just lack the inspiration I need to get the writing started, going, and done with?

The Good Shepherd

In church today, the officiating minister introduced the day as the Good Shepherd Sunday. Readings from the bible were taken. These readings have been carefully selected to buttress the meaning of the Good Shepherd.

Realising the Pain of Love

In that faithful year when I was called to serve my fatherland in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, I fell in love and for once, love was so real that I had no doubts whatsoever about what I felt. My apologies to my past; I cannot deny that I never met good “girl” friends prior to my NYSC days, neither can I wash down the attributes that makes them special, but somehow, they never swept me off my feet.

Lagos, Elections & Igbos

I blog as a Lagosians today as we go to the polls to vote the next Governor of Lagos State. Lol...
I have tried hard not to blog about the trending topic of the Oba of Lagos’s comments against the Igbo’s living in Lagos state. Unfortunately, I can’t help it at this point but to add my voice. So, what’s my opinion on the matter?

Another Easter

It is yet another Easter. In a very special way, I wish you a happy Easter. How wonderful is it for me to know that Jesus Christ rose from the dead... now I am free. I am so thankful to the Lord. In short, I have tagged this years Easter an Easter of Thanksgiving, for the Lord has been so gracious to me.

And He Died

The day – Good Friday, might not be directly and generally accepted by people of the different Christian denomination, but it still does not change the fact that Jesus Christ came from heaven to earth and died for our salvation. His suffering and death on the cross was the summit of His life here on earth, but more important was the fact that He Rose and defeated the grave (on Easter).

Its April Fool

Today is April fool. You don't need an introduction to the day. It is one of the most popular days on in Nigeria and around the world. A day where calculated pranks are played on friends and loved ones. But for some people, it is a case of no-holds-barred. They play the pranks on even their bosses. I think I will try that an see what the outcome will be...lol. Please, don't forget that your pranks today may have very serious consequences ooo... so before you play it, think about it again.

Pray for Nigeria

We have so waited for the moment when Nigerians will go to the polls and vote. The moment has come, and we count in few hours and minutes. The suspense has been like never before. For once there seems to be a real contest for the positions of leadership of our great nation and everybody is involved in one way or the other, consciously and unconsciously.

I Wear Ties these Days

I like this look
As a kid, my father taught me how to knot a tie. I really did not know why he made sure I learnt it, because I never had course to wear a tie then; it was never part of my school uniform both in primary and secondary school. I still cannot remember any of my dressing then, that I used a tie, not even my church wears.

GIS: Job for Unemployed Graduates

Our higher institutions produce numerous graduates repeatedly every year. With high hopes and great expectations they are sent off into the labour market (or is it favour market?), to find a job. At this point, reality begins to dawn on (most of) them. They go to all kinds of places and do all kinds of things to try and secure a job. They now start understanding why Chike, Miriam and Bayo have been at home, two years now since they graduated. Confusion and frustration sets in, and the hopes continually thins out.

Danfo Blogging

Inside a Danfo Blogging
On that long trip back home from work, I write. In case you do not understand why, I will tell you. I have not been consistent in blogging lately, I wish I was. The challenge has been balancing my time such that after work and the time I spend on the road to and fro work, find food to eat before I go to work and after I return, and sleep, still find spare time to articulate that which I would love to blog about. It has really been a challenge.
